SORAYA JABID
|
Ms Soraya Jabid is a Barrister at Law of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1995 and in 1996 was called to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaysia.
She is a graduate from Thames Valley University with an LLB Degree (Honours) and attended the Bar Course at BPP Law School, London.
Her early training as a pupil in chamber was at Messrs Shook Lin & Bok in 1996 and later as an Advocate and Solicitor at Messrs. Jal & Lim in the corporate and conveyancing division. In 1997 she became a partner in Messrs. Jal & Lim. Subsequently in 2002 she joined Messrs. S.C. Lim & Partner as a partner and was attached to the corporate and conveyancing division handling project joint ventures, sale and purchase agreements and other related agreements and handling loan documentation of numerous financial institutions.
Her experience has been largely in property matters including acquisition and disposal of residential, commercial and industrial properties, advising developers and handling development of project including related documentation, property financing, banking including individual and corporate loans as well as Islamic Banking matters and security documentation.
She is also experienced in commercial and corporate matter such as joint ventures, share sale transactions and has conducted due diligence exercises for corporations. She has experience in handling sale of corporate towers and has participated in many development projects.

DEBORAH KAUR

Ms Deborah Kaur is a Barrister at Law of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1986 and in 1991 was called to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaysia.
She is a graduate from University of Malaya holding a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Economics.
She also obtained a Master in Law from the University of Malaya in 1996.
Currently she is in the process of acquiring an associateship from the Malaysian Institute of Insurance.
Her early training as an Advocate and Solicitor was at Messrs.
Shook Lin & Bok in the banking and general litigation department.
Later she joined Messrs.
Mah Weng Kwai & Associates as a legal assistant having conduct of the litigation matters.
She subsequently joined Messrs.
S.C. Lim & Partner as a legal assistant in March 2003 and became a partner in the litigation division in May 2004.
Throughout her practice she has been actively engaged in all aspects of commercial litigation in particular areas of company law, contract law, construction law including arbitration, securities, industrial disputes and all matters related to labour laws.
In addition she has had conduct of matters in insurance law in particular general insurance law in particular general insurance and accident and personal injury matter.
She has also had conduct of property related matters including advisory work to property developers.

Cindy Khaw

Ms Cindy Khaw Su Ming was called to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaysia in 2000. She is a graduate from the University of London with an LLB Degree (Honours). She obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice in 1999.
Her early training was at Messrs. Isharidah Ho Chong & Menon as a pupil in chamber in the banking and general litigation department. After being called to the Bar, she joined Messrs. Wong & Associates as a legal assistant having conduct of litigation matters. She ceased practice in 2004 and joined a public listed company, SEG International Bhd as a legal executive and rose to the position of senior legal manager prior to her leaving the company in December 2008. Whilst at SEG International Bhd, she also managed the legal department of another public listed company, EcoFirst Consolidated Bhd.
Her experiences are wide-ranging, from all aspects of litigation in particular in areas of contract law, company law, construction law, industrial disputes, tort including defamation actions and insurance matters, to commercial and corporate matters such as joint ventures, share sale transactions including international transactions and numerous types of collaborative contracts, to conveyancing including acquisition and disposal of properties, property financing including corporate loans and guarantees, security documentation, developers' work and all advisory and related matters thereto.
She joins us a partner in our firm in 2009 and is attached to the Corporate as well as the Litigation Divisions.
